Versions (2017-04-29)
- Printix Client for Windows version 1.1.968.0.
- Printix Client for Mac version 1.1.758.0.
New features
- Print driver language. You can now select the language the print driver is using (Example: Español) and write an optional comment. Unknown language is shown if the language has not been confirmed. Select Other language if the language is not among the 18 languages and then write the language as a Comment. Universal print drivers often support Multiple languages. Print drivers in the Printix library of print drivers were published before this functionality was introduced and may be shown as Unknown language, but in most cases the driver will be in English.
- Uploaded print drivers. On the Print drivers page check Show only uploaded print drivers to list print drivers that has been uploaded and added to your Printix library of print drivers. For additional information see the Printix Administrator Manual.
Improvements
- Printix Administrator: Print driver configurations can now be modified. If you are satisfied with the print driver's factory defaults, you do not need to make a print driver configuration. Works with Windows. See: How to work with print driver configurations.
- Multiple network adapters. Handle computers with multiple network adapters (For example LAN and WiFi). On the Computer properties page you can use the network adaptor's listed Gateway IP to identify the relevant network adapter. See: Networks.
Fixes
- The service partner email: "Printix Signup Notification" now include the name and email of the user who created the Printix account.
Known issues
- MDM for Windows 10: Deployment of Printix Client with Microsoft Intune and Windows Installer through MDM requires a new version of Printix Client. Please contact us, so we can supply you with a new version of Printix Client.
- Printing via the cloud can fail if the file can not be uploaded within 100 seconds. Problem most likely to occur with a combination of a slow Internet connection (ADSL2+) and large printable files (8 MB or bigger). Please contact us, so we can supply you with a new version of Printix Client.
- The status of Printix printers in the Print dialog of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint are after printing reported as: "Ready: 1 document waiting". Restarting the Printix Service or restarting the computer will clear the message, so it will just say Ready. However, when you print a document again, it will appear was waiting, even though the document is printed and nothing is sitting in the print queue.
- Printix Client for Windows: On Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) at sign in, it may complain about missing System.web.dll and errors in production.js. This happens if Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is installed. To resolve, upgrade to Microsoft .NET Framework 4.
- Printix Client for Windows: If you open the Control Panel, Features and Programs and click Printix Client the Product version is that of the initially installed Printix Client. The current version number can be seen on the Printix Client Diagnostics dialog.
- Printix Client for Mac: Documents printed to a Printix Anywhere printer are always tracked as 1 page.
- Printix Client for Mac: Printix logo is in orange instead of black.
