Versions (2018-01-03)
- Printix Client for Windows version 1.2.236.0.
- Printix Client for Mac version 1.2.238.0.
New features
- Remote print queue management: In Printix Administrator open the new Print queues tab on the Computer properties page to see what print queues are installed and managed by Printix on the computer. From here you can remotely Add, Update and Delete Printix managed print queues on the computer. Open the new Computers tab on the Print queue properties page to see what computers has the print queue installed. From here you can remotely Add print queue to computers.
- Convert print queues can now be controlled per network.
Improvements
- New Create print queue dialog with the option to check if the created print queue should be Active or not.
Fixes
- If a proxy server was used to access the Internet, the Printix Client would not always detect the new proxy settings as the computer connected to another network. Work around involved restarting the computer or the Printix Service. New proxy settings are now detected in a few seconds.
- Shared print queues (Example: Reception on SERVER) installed on Windows computers are now converted if there is an identically named print queue (Reception) and a registered printer (ASD) in Printix. The printer name of the converted print queue is without the last part (on SERVER) and will typically have the three-letter printer ID at the end (Reception ASD). Print queues are still not converted on Windows servers.
- On macOS some print drivers (Kyocera Taskalfa 5551ci and RICOH MP C3003) did not install.
- When a Windows printer was installed, the part of the print driver configuration settings that were configured via the Printing defaults button on the Advanced tab (per-printer defaults), was not applied consistently.
- The process of adding a print driver configuration did not allow sufficient time for the print driver to be installed, and therefore you could experience that the Print driver configuration dialog would close unexpectedly. A second attempt would normally succeed, as the print driver would now be installed on the computer.
- For the Brother HL-L5200DW series print driver, the tray selection was unintentionally reset to auto after a restart of the computer. This happened if the print queue was configured in Printix Administrator to Print in black by default.
- Computers' virtual network adapters with empty IPv6 addresses (::) are no longer reported to Printix Cloud, as this could cause computers to be deleted because of non-unique MAC addresses. Seen at customer using Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.
- Printing via Lexmark X790 Series PS3 driver on Windows 10 did not work because of issue with parser.
- The number of Computers that have a print queue installed and managed by Printix was not always calculated correctly.
- The Save-O-Meter showed percentages which were too high. Algorithm has been adjusted.
Known issues
- Printers registered before 2017-10-17 are listed without a Created date on the Printers page in Printix Administrator.
- On Windows, when you open the Control Panel, Features and Programs and click Printix Client the Product version is that of the initially installed Printix Client. The current version number can be seen on the Printix Client Diagnostics dialog.
