Versions (2016-12-13)
- Printix Client for Windows version 1.1.833.0.
- Printix Client for Mac version 1.1.621.0.
New features
- Printix can now span multiple sites and handle separate networks, so you can centrally manage your print infrastructure across all your sites/networks. See the full description about working with networks.
- You can check the new printer property: Enable printing via the cloud, and thereby make it possible for users to print from one company network to a printer on another company network. Printing is achieved without use of Virtual Private Networks (VPN). The document remains secure during the transfer over the Internet as the document itself and the communication are both encrypted. If a user's computer is on an unknown network, perhaps because the user is travelling or working at home, the user can still print directly to the printer. Read more about How to enable printing via the cloud. Please contact us if you want to use this feature, as we will need to supply you with a newer version of the Printix Client.
Improvements
- An invited user with a company email address and who has Microsoft work or school account is no longer asked to first register. User reads the email "Welcome to Printix ...", and clicks the link to Download Printix Client. Registration happens automatically when the user Sign in with Microsoft to Printix Client.
- Users who registers with their Microsoft work or school account no longer receives the email: "Get started with Printix …".
Known issues
- Enable printing via the cloud: Please contact us if you want to use this feature, as we will need to supply you with a newer version of the Printix Client.
- Printix Client for Windows: On Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) at sign in, it may complain about missing System.web.dll and errors in production.js. This happens if Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is installed. To resolve, upgrade to Microsoft .NET Framework 4.
