New features
- The Issues icon in Printix Administrator will now also appear whenever there are issues with Data extract.
- Since Printix Client version 1.3.619.0 Sign in to Printix Client happens via a browser window. After successful sign in the user can close the window. Improvements
- To prevent unintentional deletion of registered printers, a Delete network operation will now offer to move the printers to another network. Also, it is only possible to delete one network at a time.
- Invoices and payment information can now be sent to multiple Finance email addresses. The additionally added email addresses will be copied on the finance emails (CC - Carbon Copy).
- Identifying and naming networks can now also be done by adding a network/gateway from the computer properties page. This alternative method is useful if there are many unknown networks.
- On Windows when adding and modifying print driver configurations it is now possible to select Upload from computer and thereby upload the configuration for the print queue in question. The computer MUST have the print queue installed already. Select Configure on computer to use the existing method, that is, to make the configuration via a temporary printer's properties dialog.
- Computers page has new filter: Online.
- Computer properties page now shows the SSID and External IP of the computer.
- To allow better troubleshooting a new Diagnostics page in the native Printix App allows logs to be uploaded or emailed to support.
Fixes
- In very rare situations after an update or re-installation of the Printix Client software, the Printix Client would keep showing Connecting to service and would only recover from this after a computer restart. The issue occurred because the rundll32.exe process started by the Printix Client, to convert printers, was not terminated when the Printix Client was shut down to allow the update/re-installation. This caused the TCP ports 21335, 21338 and 21339 to be taken over by the processes System or 4, and thus preventing the Printix Service from using these ports for communication.
- Shared Windows print queues were deleted rather than converted if the shared printer was on a different network than the computer.
- Using Groups to grant exclusive access to printers and deploy printers could, in combination with an unstable network connection (seen with Wi-Fi), result in the documents submitted for printing by the users, were discarded, instead of printed. Also, the Printix Client Printers page could be empty. Having the users Sign in again after the connection to Printix Cloud was re-established, would resolve the issue. Printix Client now refreshes users' group membership relations at both start-up and sign in. The group membership relations are now saved in registry, thereby improving print service also when the Printix Cloud is offline.
- The Location specified for the printer in Printix Administrator is now also updated on the General tab in the Windows Printer properties dialog.
- On Mac computers running macOS 10.15.1 you could get the message: "Printix Client.pkg" can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. See also: FAQ - Printix Client for Mac will not install on macOS 10.15.1.
- Fixed rare issue where Scan in native Printix App for print later documents did not select printer, if the previously selected printer did not have any print queues.
Known issues
- On Windows when adding and modifying print driver configurations the Upload from computer method only works if the printer named is without printer ID. Please contact us to get a newer version of the Printix Client, that also if the printer ID is before or after the printer name.
