Versions (2020-02-03)
- Printix Client for Windows version 1.3.686.0.
- Printix Client for Mac version 1.3.684.0.
- Printix App version 2.0.5.
- Printix for Chromebook version 1.0.0.64.
New features
- Allow users to print from a computer without being signed in with their personal account. Achieved by configuring Printix Client to run as kiosk. This way, the administrator can use Printix to centrally manage print queues and print drivers from the cloud even on these shared non-personal computers. Users can print as normal, but document release (Print later and Print anywhere) is not supported as the user is not known to Printix.
Ricoh print driver security vulnerability
- In response to potential security vulnerabilities in some Ricoh print drivers (CVE-2019-19363) the Printix Driver Store was updated on 2020-01-28 to use version 4.26 of these 64-bit Ricoh universal PCL6 and PS print drivers: RICOH PCL6 UniversalDriver, PCL6 Driver for Universal Print, RICOH PS UniversalDriver and PS Driver for Universal Print. For Ricoh PCL5 printers on 64-bit, the default was change to HP Universal Printing PCL5. For 32-bit (PCL5, PCL6 and PS) the default print driver was changed to the corresponding HP universal print driver. Print queues that are configured and locked to use earlier versions can continue to use those, but once unlocked the earlier versions of the print drivers can not be selected again, as they have been marked as deprecated. These changes also apply to Gestetner, Nashuatec, NRG, Infotec, Lanier and Savin.
Improvements
- The History page now load much faster.
- The print driver configuration method Configure on computer requires the computer and printer to be on the same network. If this is not the case you will now see the message: Computer and printer must be on the same network.
- To work with print driver configurations a print driver must be selected. If no print driver is selected you will now see the message: Print driver is required.
- Printix Configurator is now generally available on the Software page. No need to first contact us to get access.
Fixes
- For Unregistered printers, you can now optionally modify Network and Printer address before you try to register the printer again by selecting Next.
- The Unregistered printers page can now be scrolled.
- HP DeskJet 3830 series is now registered as a color printer. However, toner levels are not reported by this printer.
- At uninstall Printix Client for Windows now also deletes update package files *.$$0, *.$$1, ... from the installation folders: /gs, /sPDF and /mDNS.
- The Scan NFC tag function did not always select the correct printer in the native Printix App for Android.

- In connection with Sign in, the native Printix App could sometimes show: FailAccessTokenRefresh.
- An error message would sometime show after the Printix App had been idle for a while.
- Error messages presented by the Printix App are now shown with all details, rather than collapsed, so more information is included if a screenshot is taken for support purposes.
- Users of native Printix App version 1.3.6 (from 2019-06-21) or earlier are prompted to update to the latest version 2.0.5.
- Due to a change of code the Printix Administrator Dashboard did not show any Print activity during the 5-day period 2020-01-31 and 2020-02-04.
