Versions (2018-09-24)
- Printix Client for Windows version 1.3.235.0.
- Printix Client for Mac version 1.3.235.0.
- Printix for Chromebook version 0.0.6.13.
Improvements
- Easier to Modify printer name - just select from the new Printer name suggestions list.
- Tighter integration with Azure AD. If you Delete a user in Azure AD, the user is also deleted in Printix. If you Block sign in for a user in Azure AD, the user is signed out from Printix and will not be able to sign in until the user's account is unblocked in Azure AD. Requires that you have enabled Azure AD groups.
- Active Directory authentication setup with Secure LDAPS now also works with TLS 1.1 and 1.2. Before it only worked with TLS 1.0.
- Page counting for Epson printers using ESC/PAGE.
Fixes
- Trying to save a new or modified print driver configuration could fail with the message: "Printer settings could not be saved. The parameter is incorrect". The issue was introduced in Printix Client version 1.3.221.0, but is corrected with this version.
- Clicking Convert print queues on the Print queues tab on the Computer properties page did not take effect if Convert print queues was set to No for the printer's Network.
- On Windows submitting a print later or print anywhere document, would unintentionally cause the appearance of an empty document without name, status printed, and dated November 30th., 1990, in the dialog that appears when you click See what's printing or Open queue. A restart of the Print Spooler would remove the document. This empty document is no longer created.
- Running Printix Client on a computer with two or more network interfaces unintentionally achieved printing by sending the documents via the cloud, when it should in fact have kept the documents local and bridged the networks via the computer's network interfaces.
- In a terminal service setup (Citrix, Remote Desktop Services, ...) Printix Client would unintentionally show print notification to all the terminal service users, if it could not deliver the print notification for the intended user.
- Print anywhere documents that are released to a print queue that has Process PDF and Print 2-sided by default checked, will now ask the driver to print on both sides. Obviously, it has effect only if the printer supports automatic printing on both sides. DISCLAIMER: We cannot guarantee Print 2-sided by default will work, as it depends in part on the used print driver. Therefore, we cannot be held responsible if it does not work as expected.
- Print anywhere documents that are released to a print queue that has Process PDF and Print in black by default checked, will now ask the driver to print in black. DISCLAIMER: We cannot guarantee Print in black by default will work, as it depends in part on the used print driver. Therefore, we cannot be held responsible if it does not work as expected.
- The Google map that shows a printer's Geolocation unintentionally included the text: "For development purposes only."
Known issues
- On Windows, when you open the Control Panel, Features and Programs and click Printix Client the Product version is that of the initially installed Printix Client.
