Versions (2021-04-12)
- Printix Client for Windows version 1.3.1025.0.
- Printix Client for Mac version 1.3.1026.0.
- Printix App version 2.0.12.
- Printix Chromebook version 1.0.0.83.
New features
- To further empower the adaption of Printix in zero trust networks environments you can now select on which networks print queues should be available via the cloud. You can for example use this to make a site's printers (on their own printer network) available to only the computers on the site's computer network. On the Print queue properties page there are now two options when you check Via the cloud. The first option, On all networks, is what you have today, and will make the print queue available to all computers on all networks, including computers on unknown networks. The second option, On selected networks only, allows you to select the networks where the print queue will be available via the cloud.
Improvements
- Printix Client now considers the user's choice of print settings (Paper size, Color, 2-sided and Orientation) for Chromebook printed, mobile printed and API printed documents. The 2-sided print setting is not considered for the Printix Anywhere print queue.
- Printix Client is now much faster at setting security permissions on print queues. This is particularly relevant in Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) and Remote Desktop Server (RDS) environments with many (more than 10) print queues.
- Improved page for modifying the properties of multiple printers and multiple print queues.
Fixes
- Releasing a print anywhere document via IPPS to an HP LaserJet 500 MFP M525 resulted in the document remaining on the list with status Print failed.
- The StartAsVDI value of 2 (0x00000002) that was introduced in Printix Client version 1.3.962.0 did not write the user’s Printix settings, including access tokens, in the user’s Application Data folder.
- Printix Client for Mac could still fail on printing with certain print drivers resulting in the message: Stopped - 'Filter' failed. To resolve use Printix Client for Mac version 1.3.1011.0 or later to upload the print driver again, and then select and lock the newly uploaded print driver for the print queues in question and then update these print queues on computers. Seen with Xerox AltaLink B8045 and Xerox AltaLink C8045 print driver.
- Printix Client connected with mobile broadband adapters, like 4G SIM cards, now has an increased response timeout limit of 280 seconds. This is to allow sufficient time for the installation of Printix Go.
- Printix Client ability to detect if Printix Cloud is offline is now fully working, as it did not work in some rare cases because of changes introduced in Printix Client version 1.3.929.
Known issues
- Documents submitted via Universal Print are tracked as 1-page documents.
- In this version and earlier, having more than 20 printers marked as favorites in Printix App may result in the Error message: Http failure response for (unknown url): 0 Unknown Error. To resolve open the Printers page and reduce the number of favorite printers by selecting the solid star to remove printer as favorite. Fix is pending development task (PP-6240).
- This version of Printix App on Android phones is represented by a generic Android icon instead of the Printix logo. Pending an update to third-party framework (PP-5211).
- This version and earlier of Printix App on iPhone 7 and above with iOS 13 or later, does NOT support register NFC tag. Pending an update to third-party framework (PP-5126).
- On Windows, when you open the Control Panel, Features and Programs and select Printix Client the Product version is that of the initially installed Printix Client.
