Computers where a web proxy has blocked the Printix Client from updating itself, may lose the ability to Print later.
Why does this happen?
This happens because a new configuration format is used for the new improved document release features (Must print securely, Print later by default, and Secure print level).
These features are supported by Printix Client version 1.3.404.0 (Windows) / 1.3.395.0 (Mac). The versions was initially deployed to selected customers on 2019-04-16 and by 2019-05-16 they were deployed to all customers. These features will become available when Printix Administrator with a new Secure print tab on the Settings page is made generally available on May 29. See also: Changelog 2019-03
RESOLUTION: Modify your web proxy so it allows automatic update
The best way is obviously to modify your web proxy, so it does not block Printix Client from updating itself now and in the future. You should do this by allowing access to:
That way, Printix Client can update itself automatically as intended. Before 2019-05-02 the software update URL was https://printix-software.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/
RESOLUTION: Manual update
Until the web proxy has been modified, users can manually update Printix Client by installing it on top of the old version, for example on top of Printix Client version 220.127.116.11 (released 2018-09-24).
