Incident report
On 2021-10-04 (Monday, October 4th. 2021) at 09:32 CET we received support request concerning issue with submitted documents not being available for release. We also got an escalated PagerDuty alert at 09:52 CET and at 10:09 CET we got PagerDuty alert indicating delay in processing requests. Subsequent analysis showed that during the scheduled maintenance on Saturday, October 2nd, a scheduled cleanup job was enabled. This had the unfortunate effect that as user activity rose Monday morning CET the performance of the Printix Cloud declined. The cleanup job was disabled again, and gradually the performance rose and at 10:46 CET we announced the issue as resolved. Further analysis, showed, that the system could do with more resources, and therefore a 1-hour maintenance was scheduled for the same evening at 22:00 CET
Actions
- Disabled cleanup job that was enabled.
- Added more resources to the Printix Cloud.
- Updated checklist for scheduled maintenance, to include performance testing after completed maintenance.
