It has been reported that antivirus software (Kaspersky and others) are setting off alerts on:
- PrintixService.exe file itself
This has been seen with Printix Client version 1.3.1091.0 (and test version 1.3.1095.0). In preparation for a new release of the Printix Client it is always uploaded to Virus total and Microsoft (Windows Defender) for scanning. The current version of Printix Client version 1.3.1091.0 was uploaded on 2021-12-22 for scanning. No issues found.
We have reached out to Kaspersky, and their antivirus lab has confirmed that it is a false detection and they will fix it.
The alert is caused by changes to the Kaspersky algorithms. See also: Blocked by Antivirus product.
