Improvements
- New Process PS check box on the Print queue properties page of Printix Anywhere print queues. This is relevant only if the Printix Anywhere print queue use a PostScript print driver. Check Process PS to use the PostScript to PDF conversion component with resulting improved color and paper size control (see below). Requires Printix Client version 1.3.1190 or later.
- Anywhere printing with improved Color and Paper size control. This is achieved with the use of a new PostScript to PDF conversion component (PS2PDF.dll).
- Newer Windows systems (11, 10, Server 2022, 2019, and 2016)
The Printix Anywhere print queue use the Microsoft Print to PDF print driver. This has some limitations in how to control if anywhere documents should come out in color or black. Eliminate these limitations by using the new PostScript to PDF conversion component. The new component is used if you make both of these changes a) Change the Printix Anywhere print queue to use a PostScript print driver, and b) Check Process PS on the Print queue properties page of the Printix Anywhere print queue. - Legacy Windows systems (8.1, 8, 7, Server 2012 R2, 2012, and 2008 R2)
Printix Anywhere print queues use MS Publisher Imagesetter print driver. Going forward the new component will be used to convert the Imagesetter's PostScript output to PDF. - Installation and update
Printix Client will, when required the first time, automatically download, and use the latest version of the new PostScript to PDF conversion component. The component install in the folder: C:\Program Files\printix.net\Printix Client\ps - On the Support page you can now set Priority to Urgent, High, Normal (default) and Low.
Fixes
- As mentioned in Changelog 2022-05 Printix Client version 1.3.1190 included changes to adress vulnerability CVE-2022-35167.
When will your Printix Client be updated?
All customers have been given access to Printix Client version 1.3.1190.0 (from 2022-08-18) and Printix Client for Mac version 1.3.1164.0 (from 2022-06-24). We have decided to introduce a limit on how many computers can update at any one time. This reduced update pace is simply to avoid the system becoming slow/unresponsive due to the massive updates occuring.
Within a couple of weeks enough computers should have been updated, so we can revert to the normal update pace, where your computers update within 1-2 hours after a new version has been made available. We have the possibility to update at a higher pace for individual customers. Please submit a support request from within your Printix Administrator (that way we automatically get the name of your Printix Home).
